Most people have heard of Noel Edmonds, the very famous British entertainer and broadcaster. Noel now lives in Matakana, a small town about an hour's drive north of Auckland.
In 2020, following Covid-19's arrival in New Zealand, Noel launched the Positivity Radio Network in New Zealand and gifted 100 non-commercial and non-news community internet radio stations to cities and towns all over the country. Positively Te Aroha is one of those stations although we not only broadcast over the internet via the player above and the Positivity Radio website but also locally in Te Aroha on 88FM if you're within a 5km to 8km radius of downtown Te Aroha (see map below). Our station can also be heard via the free Android and Apple app.
Positively Te Aroha is run completely by volunteers (see below) who believe in the promotion of our town as a great destination and publicising community groups and their activities, local businesses and local music artists.
Our thanks to NMBL Internet Services in Te Aroha who provide and maintain our internet and power feeds to our FM transmission equipment.
Our station broadcasts via what is known as a LPFM frequency (88FM) which means that our transmitter's power output is limited by law to 1 watt. This means that our FM signal has a radius of approximately 5km to 8km from our transmitter antenna which is located above the arcade which hosts the Citizens Advice Bureau in Te Aroha central.
Our coverage map shows our approximate FM broadcast radius which covers Te Aroha, Waihou, Waitoa, Elstow, Te Aroha West and Manawaru. If you're outside of that radius, listening in online here is your best option as our internet audio feed reaches worldwide.
